SMS Notification Privacy Policy

Conservation X Labs, having its registered office at 1050 30th Street NW Washington DC 20007, United States (“CXL” or “we” or “us” or “our”), is a non-profit organization acting in the field of conservation technology. We are committed to safeguarding across the organization the privacy of our clients, job applicants, website users, subscribers, and donors (“you”) and to protecting the personal information you share with us.

This Policy applies to the processing of personal information by CXL, acting as a controller, in connection with SMS notifications for Sentinel products only.

If you deploy a Sentinel device and choose to receive alerts by text, CXL will send automated SMS notifications to the mobile number you provide.

These texts are a feature you enable in order to operate your device; we do not use them to send you marketing communications, and providing a mobile number is not a condition of using our Services.

Message frequency. Message frequency varies and depends on your device’s activity — you receive a message when your Sentinel device registers an event you have set up alerts for, so volume rises and falls with conditions in the field.

Cost. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.

Opting out and getting help. You can stop alerts at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by turning off SMS alerts in your Sentinel settings. If you reply STOP, we will send a single confirmation message and then stop texting that number. For help, please contact us at sentinel@conservationxlabs.org.

How we handle your mobile information. We do not sell your mobile number, and we do not share it with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We share it only with the service providers that help us deliver these alerts (for example, our SMS platform), and only so that they can send the texts on our behalf. Your opt-in and consent are never shared with any third party for any other purpose.
